We don’t list the sites for every electronics provider, just the ones that are most highly rated.  Our links are based on recommendations from sources like PC World, and Consumer Reports.  Now you can go straight to the leading providers to comparison shop without the need to weed out the overload you can get from an open web search.  Just the best…not the rest.

Finding the best computer or electronic device online

Do you have a particular brand and model you’d like to buy, but you’d still like a bit more information before making your purchase?  Maybe you know what you need, but you’re not sure which one is the best fit.  There are several ways to search for the one that’s just right for you.  One option is to use the links to the left to browse by category.  That way you can do a bit of window shopping, read the product descriptions posted by different retailers, and do some price comparisons.  You may also want to look for information on the Consumer Reports web site.  They’re a non-profit organization that tests products and publishes their findings and recommendations.

First, check out a reliable name: Consumer Reports.

PC World Reviews

On PC World’s website you’ll find reviews for all the latest technology that you can use to narrow down your choices. When you’ve zeroed in on the item you want, you can use our shopping links to compare deals from different retailers. Keep in mind that ultra-low price offers are often for refurbished models and you should maintain a “buyer beware” when purchasing anything on the Internet. We’ve tried to make your experience easier by helping you to choose from high rated companies with good reputations.

Advice on “one stop shopping” on the Internet.

Some retailers, like Amazon, are a “one stop shopping” resource.  Not only do they carry a wide array of items, but they also have technical information and product reviews to help you make decisions, along with a variety of retailers and auction sites from which to make your purchase.  If you feel more comfortable working with a well-known Internet dealer instead of an individual seller in a town you’ve never heard of, then sites like Amazon will be a good fit for you.
