D&E provides a local backup server from Barracuda Networks. The backup server is a rack-mounted model, with multiple specification options depending on your business needs.
The backup server resides within your network environment (can be at your location or with equipment housed in D&E's Offsite Data Center).
Once powered up, the backup server will automatically and securely connect to Barracuda's data storage network.
The backup server compresses, encrypts and transmits the data to two additional offsite locations.
After your initial backup is completed, you can set the backup server to check for changed and new data as often as you would like. You will be provided with a secure and easy-to-use web-based portal. A D&E engineer is available to assist in the set up and offer tips to effectively manage your backup processes.
When your backup server identifies new or changed information, it will analyze each file at the bit level and only has to copy and transfer the new bit sequences in the files themselves. This saves you time and bandwidth.
Why is offsite data backup important?
94% of companies that experience a catastrophic data loss go out of business within two years.* Regardless of the size of your business, your data is critical to your future success. Protecting your data from every angle can be an overwhelming task – but it’s a crucial component in a successful business continuity plan.
Perhaps natural disasters like tornadoes, floods and wildfires are unlikely to affect your business, but what about the most common disruptions - such as power outages, theft, sabotage or equipment failures? Even these seemingly trivial problems can have a significant impact on your daily business operations. But your business doesn’t have to be at risk. D&E’s Offsite Data Backup can help protect your most valuable assets.
